Wingmans Connect

Just for the two of you.

Voice settings

Saved on this device. Changes apply instantly, even during a call.

Say something — the bar should move.

How loud you sound to the other person. Above 100% boosts a quiet mic.

Sound processing

AI noise cancellation

Krisp-style: an open-source neural model (DeepFilterNet3) running on your device removes keyboard, fans, traffic and other voices. Needs a fairly recent computer or phone.

Browser noise suppression

The basic built-in filter. Switched off automatically while AI noise cancellation is on.

Echo cancellation

Stops your speakers from feeding back into your mic. Turn off with headphones for cleaner audio.

Automatic gain control

Evens out your volume when you whisper or shout.

Quality

Higher sounds clearer but uses more data. 64 kbps is great for voice.

Behaviour

Join muted

Start every call with your mic off.

Join / leave sounds

A soft beep when the other person enters or leaves voice.

About voice chat

Private & direct. Audio goes straight between your devices (peer-to-peer, encrypted by WebRTC). It never passes through or is stored on a server — only the connection setup does.

Reading the numbers under “Voice connected”: Direct means a straight link, Relayed means it’s routed via a relay (slightly slower). Ping under ~100 ms feels natural; packet loss above ~3% sounds choppy.

Headphones give the best result: no echo, so you can switch echo cancellation off.

Trouble? Make sure the site has microphone permission, you’re both on Join voice, and try a different network if it says “Connection failed”.
